Programme of Talks and Events 2008

All lecture meetings are held at Falcon Cross Hall, Shanklin

on the first Thursday of the month and commence at 7.30 pm

 

17 MAY  Exhibition: “Shanklin Remembered” a display of Old Shanklin – Saturday morning at Falcon Cross Hall – Open 10 am to 2 pm

18 May  Walk: Isle of Wight Walking Festival: “Shanklin Esplanade, Chine and Cliff” led by Society members. Meet at foot of Hope Road in the Car Park at 6 pm

5 JUNE  “Old Shanklin” by John Fleming

4 SEPTEMBER “Ryde To Ventnor Railway – Past And Present” by Dr John Mackett

2 OCTOBER “An Evening of Nostalgia” presented by Robert Ennis and John Bartlett (Trustees of the IW Film Archive)

6 NOVEMBER “The First World War” by Gareth Sprack

4 DECEMBER “Ghosts Of The Isle Of Wight” by Marc Tuckey
